GM3 is proud to announce a renewed 10-year commitment to its Appin Mine Community Partnership Program (CPP).

Established in 2004, the CPP is a voluntary initiative through which A$0.03 per saleable tonne of coal produced at Appin Mine is contributed to a community trust – which is administered by a Board comprising community and company representatives. As part of the renewal, Appin CPP payments from 2026 will be indexed in accordance with CPI.

The CPP awards grants to a wide range of local projects, activities and organisations that deliver lasting community benefit across key areas including community services, the environment, education and health.

The CPP has awarded grants to a range of groups in 2025, including the Salvation Army, Wilton and Douglas Park Public Schools, Wilton Warriors Football Club, and the Appin War Memorial Committee.

Appin Mine General Manager Andy Hyslop said he was pleased to extend the Program for another decade:

“We are delighted to commit to another 10-year term of the Program, ensuring ongoing support to the many local charitable and community organisations that benefit the communities surrounding our operations,” Andy said.

“Since its establishment in 2004, the CPP has awarded 210 grants, providing more than A$3.3 million in funding to projects across the Wollondilly and surrounding regions.”

“We are very proud of the Program and the positive outcomes it has delivered – made possible by our committed volunteer Board members, who give their time to ensure funding decisions reflect the needs and priorities of the community.”

The CPP Board accepts grant applications year-round. Eligibility criteria and the online application form can be found on the GM3 community website.
