Our GM3 Appin Mine was buzzing with energy and emotions on Sunday, 16 November as we welcomed in the 2025 Illawarra Convoy.
Each year, the Appin Mine North Team hands over the pit-top keys to Illawarra Convoy, serving as the official starting line for the iconic event.
Now in its 21st year, the i98fm Illawarra Convoy is the largest truck and motorbike Convoy in the Southern Hemisphere. The event is also one of the largest regional one day fundraisers in the country, with funds raised providing direct support to individuals and families affected by potentially life threatening medical conditions, charities that work with these people, and local hospitals.
More than 1,500 trucks and motorbikes lined Wedderburn Road beside West Cliff Coal Processing Plant before making their way down the mountain and through the streets of the Illawarra, finishing at Shellharbour Airport for a free family fun day.
To show our support, GM3 pledged to match every dollar donated to our GM3 Team page up to $50,000. Thanks to generous donations by our employees, contract partners and the wider community, we reached our $50,000 target, taking our total contribution to A$100,368.00!
