Thanks to a grant from GM3 Dendrobium Mine’s Community Enhancement Program, the local Mount Kembla Rural Fire Service Brigade has been able to purchase a new remote area portable lighting system and articulating torches.
Earlier this week, Dendrobium Blue Mines Rescue Team members Rob and Rod, visited the station to see the new equipment in action.
The compact light tower can be deployed in seconds and stored in a truck locker, allowing firefighters to respond quickly in emergencies. The articulating torches are body-mounted, heat resistant, and waterproof, ensuring firefighters maintain reliable visibility in challenging and hazardous conditions.
This contribution will help increase the brigade’s capability and improve safety in low-visibility environments—an important boost for the team that plays such a vital role in protecting our local community.
